Hi guys,
With the recent news that this meetup.com site is going fee-based it occured to me that we could simply move our group to a Yahoo group (free) and save Karl from getting a $19 bill every month. Yahoo groups offer very similar features to this site. I've already taken the liberty of creating an instance for us.

PS. The meetup last night was terrific!

I'm not a big fan of Yahoo Groups (overwhelmed by the ads in/before every message). The price is only $9/month for the first year; I'd rather not move immediately as a knee-jerk reaction to meetup.com realizing they can't pay the bills without ads or fees.

However, if there are some features we want that YG delivers that Meetup can't, then let's look at it. I've paid the $9 for May->June; let's talk it over at the next Meetup?
